MARIA CLARA JUNGER NOGUEIRA SCRIVENER

Maria is a 20 Year old artist from Brazil raised in England. Having studied at the BRIT School for four years in Visual arts allowed her to develop high expertises and skill in visual storytelling and design.
Her heart lies with hand drawn 2D Animation with the past year devoting her time to her final film “Cheiro de casca laranja”.
She also specialises in concept illustration and storyboarding work along with rough animation ,character conception/design and layout.
If not animating or painting I can be found wistfully sitting by a window imagining scenarios full of spectacle or
playing volleyball.

Scent of Orange Peel is a wistful and emotional exploration of grief and how we approach it. Following the story of Juju as she grapples with her late grandmother's absence as she falls into hallucinations of her childhood that struggles to let go of.
I took charge of most of the film being in charge of storyboards, animatic , creative direction and design. Was in charge of managing a group of a nine person team . I would send weekly production checks to see how my volunteers were progress wise on their assigned shots and updating said progress in data sheets and calendar so everyone could be updated.

I went ahead to create specific folders for each person on my team to dispense their assigned pieces whilst on the go. On top of this I was the only clean up animator and colourist along with being a rough animator and a background painter.

Unfortunately the film is far from completion due to production setbacks and changes being made but as of current it should be completed in August of 2025.

Events Management
Every year, final year students band together to form a committee to help raise money through
fundraisers such as holiday events, stalls, quizzes and auctions in order to fund their degree
show at the end of their academic year!
On top of creating my film I took on the role of Events manager for the degree show!
I worked closely alongside many of my peers. My responsibilities included organising and
booking venues for pop up events alongside completing health and risk assessment forms that
come with it. Reaching out to individuals that could design products to sell to help fundraise
along with promotional content. I organised and helped put together The Uwe christmas event
,games night ,and several stalls on our university campus.

Events Management
Our biggest event was our Square event that took place in April. I helped book the venue, bring
in an external performer troupe to perform a segment of their show, set up and co-host the
evening!
Other such events include the aforementioned Christmas event which gives a kick start to
fundraising our degree show and working closely alongside Amy and Aiden organizing a
collaboration with Animinspo!

Events Management
In addition to this I also helped assist with creative design choices for the layout of the
exhibition, reaching out to external providers for potential vinyl stickers and other decorative
elements to decorate the venue and liaising with different companies for potential budgets.

Events Management
Though not on top of my role always I had the help of my peers to assist me where I
faltered. Through my best attempts this opportunity had strengthened and gave me confidence
in my organization, communication, self criticism and overall a good experience working in a
creative collaborative project
